DEPARTMENT OF HOME SICENCE
INTRODUCTION:
Department of Home Science is established in 1990 with 09 students. Dr. Anjali Lakhe, Assoc. Prof. and Head has associated her services since the beginning. Dr. Surekha Bhale, Professor has joined the dept. in 1993. The department is unique of its time. It is fulfilled with the faculties. The department is proving quality education as well as the needed to service in the competitive world. It undertakes research activities as well as it gives practical knowledge to the students to become economically independent.
The department is trying at its best to fulfill the needs of the fast changing and technologically advanced society. Ours is the only college in the city offering Home Science as optional subject.
Dr. Anjali Lakhe is the research guide, at present 5 research scholars are working under her guidance. Both the faculties have cleared the SET & NET. The department is very active in academics and extension activities.
OBJECTIVES:
- To plan, monitor and evaluate the nutrition and health programmes.
- To develop sensitivity to women’s issues and concerns.
- To familiarize students to plan and undertake various activities to improve the status of women.
- To equip students to become entrepreneurs.
- To develop the ability to evaluate the management efficiency and effectiveness in the family and other organization.
- To develop awareness and appreciation of art and aesthetics in textiles.
- To prepare the students to face the challenges in their life.
