“Partition Horrors Remembrance Day”

In alignment with this national observance, our institute organized Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, to commemorate the sacrifices, suffering, and pain endured by people during the partition of India and Pakistan, and to create awareness among the youth about this tragic chapter in Indian history.  Mr. A.B. Thorat delivered the welcome address and conducted the anchoring for the event. He explained the significance of the day and its relevance in today’s socio-political context.  Mr. S. M. Ambore, Mr. R.B. Dudhate, and Mr. S.G. Mule spoke on the historical background of the Partition, describing it as a moment of both independence and immense human tragedy. They emphasized that; Over 10 to 20 million people were displaced. Approximately 2 to 2.2 million people lost their lives due to communal violence and displacement-related tragedies. The Partition not only divided land but also tore apart families, communities, and centuries of cultural bonds. As a mark of respect to all those who lost their lives during the Partition, a two-minute silence was observed by all attendees. This gesture was a collective tribute to their sacrifice, suffering, and enduring spirit. At last vote of thanks given by Mr. A. B. Thorat and program was concluded.
