Principal’s Message
Marathwada is educationally backward compared to other parts of Maharashtra. Especially in terms of female education, the literacy rate here is low. In order to increase this ratio, urban and rural students need education to become self-reliant. For the purpose of the women's education, the principled politician himself, Govindrao Dharmadhikari Barbadekar, the former Education Minister of Maharashtra, Kamal Kishor Kadam, and other colleagues established the Nanded Mahila Shiksha Sanstha.
By starting a junior college in 1984, it provided educational opportunities to rural, minority, and economically weaker students. Later in 1989, keeping in view the need for higher education for women, the K. R. M. Mahila (Arts and Commerce) Mahavidyalaya, Nanded, was started. Various activities have been carried out at the college over the last 33 years. The college's NCC and NSS units are working to shape students' personalities and instill patriotism and discipline in them. Our college has highly educated, expert professors who conduct research as part of their professional duties. Also, the college prepares the students for special competitive and other exams.
In the name of the great king Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj and with the concept of education through public participation, the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Free Women's Education Yojana is being run in our college to assist economically disadvantaged students. As a result of this program, many female students have received free education. The college has completed the NAAC process successfully and maintains a "B." The college arranges various activities for the development of the students. The college also runs the Yashwantrao Chavan Open University Study Center which provides students with educational opportunities. The college organised conferences, seminars, and workshops as part of its research activities. Many intellectuals, writers, poets, and social workers from Maharashtra have visited the college. A new hostel building has been constructed under the financial scheme of the University Grants Commission in order to provide accommodation in the city for students from rural areas. The institution intends to construct a suitable college building within a short period of time. In short, the college strives for fulfillment of its vision, mission, and objectives.
